Linden Arts Council

Visual Arts Scholarship

The Linden Arts Council Visual Arts Scholarship is a $500 gift card to purchase art supplies through DickBlick. We understand how expensive art supplies can be for an aspiring young artist and we would like to help with the cost of those supplies.  This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Linden High School that shows an interest in furthering their education in the visual arts.

To be eligible for this scholarship the student must complete these tasks before March 29, 2016;

  1. Fill out the form online found at this link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1WSZKKWaa0q99YDoJrUclVEXxRx1xyMmbZDhwQnkwlKw/viewform?usp=send_form

  2. Submit a digital portfolio including 6-10 finished pieces, labeled, including size and medium. The portfolio can be a pdf file sent to lindenartscouncil@gmail.com, a file created in google slides shared to the same address, or a link to a website, again shared to the same address. Please label the email subject title with your full name and the word portfolio.

  3. 2 letters of recommendation sent to lindenartscouncil@gmail.com. Please label the email subject title with your full name and the word recommendations. Letters can be sent by the applicant as an attachment or sent directly from the person recommending them.

 

EVALUATION PROCEDURE

All completed applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the members of the Linden Arts Council. Each application is scored based on the student's past performance and future potential. Linden Arts Council reserves the right to choose the winner based on the information given to them in the application process.

Incomplete, non-qualifying, or falsified information will invalidate the application. The Linden Arts Council  has the right to refuse and/or retract any scholarship application or scholarship award during the judging, awarding or post awarding process. Refusal/retraction can be based on, but not limited to, non factual and incorrect information provided in the application or failure to meet any of the requirements. Only one $500 gift card award will be made. In the event that no qualified applicants apply, the funds will not be awarded.  All decisions of the Linden Arts Council Scholarship are final.

The winner will not be chosen based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity (including gender expression), sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, or family/parental status.

Winner will be announced at the Linden Honors Ceremony on June 3rd, 2016. Funds/Giftcard will be given to the winner during the ceremony.

 

Follow up

 

Note to the winner: The Linden Arts Council would like to kindly request digital images of the artwork made by the individual using the art supplies that were purchased using the $500.00 gift card. The Images will remain the sole property of the artist and will be labeled, giving credit to said artist. The Linden Arts Council will reserve the right to post the images of the artwork on their website or any other documentation concerning the Linden Arts Council and the Scholarship.

The Linden Arts Council also reserves the right to post the name (Only the first name if requested) of the winner for marketing purposes.
